Janet Elizabeth Thomas
Janet Elizabeth Thomas (b. 1963, Sydney)
Australian contemporary artist whose practice spans painting, drawing, digital media, and hand‑carved marble sculpture. Based in Sydney, she is best known for her stylized figurative works and imaginative landscapes, which explore human psychology, perception, and humanity’s relationship to the natural world. Thomas works with earth pigments bound in egg tempera and oil, developing richly textured surfaces that balance symbolism with material presence.
Nicholas Georgouras
Nicholas Georgouras (b. 1946 - 2020, Sydney)
Australian sculptor best known for his mastery of hand‑carved marble and his commitment to humanist themes. Working primarily from his studio in Marrickville, Sydney, he developed a sculptural practice that emphasized the expressive potential of the human figure and the physical, almost meditative process of carving stone by hand. His work is widely described as material‑driven, combining classical discipline with a deeply personal and ethical engagement with form and subject matter.
Meiko Georgouras
Meiko Georgouras (b. 1987, Sydney)
Australian digital artist whose practice explores perception, consciousness, and inner experience through innovative technologies. Following a severe brain injury that left her unable to move or speak, Georgouras developed a unique method of making art using an eye‑gaze system, allowing her to compose images through eye movement alone. She creates digital paintings and drawings using graphic applications, which are then printed on archival paper or translated into painted works with assistance.
