Sydenham Road Intersection

$320.00

From the Walking the Perimeter series by Janet Elizabeth Thomas

In Sydenham Rd Intersection, Janet Elizabeth Thomas captures a fleeting urban moment at the meeting of street, traffic and architecture in Marrickville. Bathed in the soft light of dusk, the scene balances movement and stillness: a solitary car pauses at the crossing while a distinctive corner building and silhouetted tree stand as enduring markers of place. Through simplified forms, atmospheric colour and subtle texture, the artist transforms an ordinary intersection into a contemplative portrait of the Inner West.

Created as part of Walking the Perimeter, the work reflects Thomas's practice of exploring her local environment on foot, finding beauty and meaning in familiar streets encountered during early morning and evening walks.

Medium: Digital painting, archival pigment print
Edition: Limited edition of 25
Size: A3 (297 × 420 mm)
Authentication: Individually signed and numbered by the artist on the reverse and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

Framing Options: Available unframed or professionally framed in a range of contemporary timber and gallery-style finishes. Museum-grade matting and glazing options are available upon request.

Part of an ongoing exploration of Marrickville's streets and landmarks, Sydenham Rd Intersection offers collectors a distinctive vision of Sydney's Inner West, where everyday urban spaces are reimagined through observation, memory and atmosphere.
