Night, Rozelle Bay

$320.00

Walking North, from the Walking the Perimeter series by Janet Elizabeth Thomas

In Night Rozelle Bay, Janet Elizabeth Thomas explores the quiet beauty of Sydney's harbour precinct after dark. Beneath the illuminated structure of the Anzac Bridge, the waters of Rozelle Bay reflect subtle tones of blue, violet and silver, while pathways and embankments guide the eye through a landscape transformed by nightfall. The geometry of bridge, shoreline and water is softened by darkness, creating a work that balances urban infrastructure with a sense of stillness and contemplation.

Part of the Walking North group within Walking the Perimeter, the painting was inspired by walks that extend beyond Marrickville toward the harbour's edge. Here, Thomas captures a moment when the city seems suspended between activity and rest, revealing the unexpected serenity of a place more often associated with movement and industry.

Through layered textures, atmospheric colour and a carefully observed sense of light, Thomas transforms a familiar Sydney landmark into a poetic meditation on reflection, distance and the experience of walking through the city at night.

Medium: Digital painting, archival pigment print
Edition: Limited edition of 25
Size: A3 (297 × 420 mm)
Authentication: Individually signed and numbered by the artist on the reverse and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

Framing Options: Available unframed or professionally framed in a choice of contemporary timber or gallery-style finishes. Museum-grade matting and glazing options are available upon request.

A contemplative addition to the Walking North series, Night Rozelle Bay offers collectors a distinctive vision of Sydney's waterfront, where architecture, water and darkness combine to create a quietly luminous portrait of place.
